Westaff is looking to hire an Accounting Assistant for a company in Hamden, CT!

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Salary range: $52k-$60k per year, depending on experience

The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Provide direct support to the Accounting Department responsibilities
  • Accurately prepare and record journal entries
  • Accurately reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts
  • Set up new Vendor accounts, including collecting and maintaining vendor department as necessary, including A/R collections, entering and reconciling A/P invoices
  • Investigate discrepancies and resolve customer billing issues Prepare and generate monthly financial reports
  • Prove Credit Card receipts to General Ledger and make journal entry to transfer funds Support procedures for online billing and customer billing portal access
  • Engage in and facilitate exceptional team communication and collaboration to ensure that all customer and vendor needs, and company objectives are fulfilled.

  • Excellent written and Verbal Communication

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous ERP Experience, preferred
  • 5-10 years of experience with accounting processes, principles, and regulations
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Power Point)
