Job Opening: Land Records Customer Service
Description
Seeking a Land Records Customer Service Representative that will be responsible for assisting customers in-person and via telephone regarding St. Tammany land and map information. This clerk also serves as a U.S. Passport acceptance agent.
Must be a permanent resident of St. Tammany Parish
- Assists the public, real estate professionals and abstracters with land research
- Makes copies of maps, surveys and deeds and other land related documents
- Provides customer service in-person and on the telephone
- Provides customer service as a U.S. Passport acceptance agent
- Assists customers with in-house computer research
- Calculates and collects appropriate fees for services rendered and enters fees into cash register program
- Prepares appropriate receipts and code slips for transactions processed
- Assembles “blue books” of original documents; checks for correct instrument # sequence; checks scanned images for proper formatting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, or General Education (GED)
- Must pass U.S. Passport acceptance agent test (training provided by client)
- Must possess strong customer service skills
- Must be able to work independently as well as on a team
- Must be able to multi-task
- Must type/index 45+ words per minute with no errors
- Must be proficient in word processing programs
- Ability to speak clearly and be understood in person and on the telephone
- Work in a high-volume office environment with constant interaction with staff, customers, and other agencies
- Must be physically fit and able to move about quickly, to bend, lift, reach and retrieve books weighing up to up to 75 lbs.
- Must be able to climb OSHA approved stairsteps to file and retrieve books
