Job Opening: Re-certification Specialist

Westaff is looking to hire a Re-certification Specialist for a property management company in Hartford, CT
Hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Pay: $20/hr
The responsibilities of the Re-certification Specialist are:
- Prepare Annual Re-certification (AR) Reminder Notices/forms for distribution to residents.
- Conduct interviews with residents or if it is not possible to conduct interview, mail information to resident with a self-addressed envelope for return to determine family composition, gross annual income, allowable deductions.
- Process and complete interim re-certifications (IRs) within 30 days of notice from the resident as required by HUD regulations.
- Perform third party verifications as required by HUD regulations.
- Perform data entry in a timely manner in property management software.
- Print EIV reports and resolve as required by HUD regulations.
- Assist with preparation for HUD Management and Occupancy Reviews (MORs).
- Prepare and process Lease Renewals as required.
- Maintenance of the resident contact database in the property management software.
- Set up and maintenance of resident files as directed by the Property Manager to comply with regulatory requirements.
- Assistance in handling all incoming telephone requests for leasing and maintenance.
- Assist Property Manager in resident retention, lease renewals and implementation of rent increases.
- Keep Property Manager informed of potential or actual issues related to physical, financial, or resident issues within the properties.
- May be required to perform such other duties as assigned or implied relative to the effective operation of the properties, including additional office support when requested.
The qualifications of the Re-certification Specialist are:
- Certification as an Occupancy Specialist (COS and/or TCS)
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, real estate, or similar field (or equivalent work experience) preferred
- 2-4 years proven experience as an Occupancy Specialist
- Property Management operations experience with track record of excellence in a multi-site environment
- Great attention to detail
- Bilingual Spanish – MUST
