Westaff is looking Customer Service Representative for a well established distribution company that is located in North Haven, CT. 

Hours: M-Th 8:00 – 6:00, F 8:00 – 5:00

Some weekends and later nights may be required at special times.

Pay: $16.00

The CUSTOMER SERVICE REP will be responsible for: 

  • Answer incoming calls, retrieve orders, and accurately enter orders.
  • Retrieve orders through e-mail, telephone, or fax and accurately enter orders.
  • Enters orders and sample requests into computerized system using numeric and alpha entry.
  • Fulfill customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist/support customers and sales personnel with orders, samples, questions, etc., as needed.
  • Ability to handle time of high call-volume (holidays, month-end, etc.)
  • Participates in, and organizes as needed, up-selling programs for the department.
  • Process pick-up / return tasks related to submission to State Regulatory Department.   
  • Maintain high profile customer accounts, update pricing as needed, complete discrepancy reports and perform all tasks related to maintaining said accounts.
  • Process requests for same-day-delivery orders, monthly close-out, pre-sell, and holiday items.
  • Review pricing applicable to customer accounts to insure order accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Ecommerce site, application process and customer registration.
  • As needed, maintain Ecommerce site needs.

The ideal Customer Service Rep will have the following:

  • Proper phone etiquette, professional attitude, customer focus and team orientation.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • 9-key entry and typing skills.
  • Knowledge, use and application of Microsoft Office Suite and JD Edwards software.
  • High School Diploma - Associates Degree or higher preferred.
  • 7 years of Customer Service experience required.
  • Ability to follow policies, procedures and State regulations.
  • Entry level Excel knowledge.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Mostly desk work.
  • Long periods of sitting, telephone and computer use.
