Westaff is looking to fill a POSITION: Manual Machinist in an aerospace company in Berlin, CT.
Experience in 'ProtoTrak'
Manual machinist will use blueprints, sketches and specs to set up and operate 4 & 5 axis machines. Conversational programming experience is preferred! Other machines include bridgeport, knee mill, vertical mill, surface grinding and lathes.
Sets up and operates conventional, and special-purpose metal cutting machines
1. Manufacture customer parts per blueprint, sketches and other specifications
2. Perform routine machine maintenance
3. Read blueprints and setup instructions to determine the machining to be done
4. Ability to write simple programs for NC machines a plus but not mandatory

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Trade School or High School diploma; some college or technical training preferred. Experience in manufacturing setting required.
Must be able to read and understand all documents pertaining to the production of customer parts, including but not limited to work instructions, job notes customer requirements. Machinist must be able to effectively communicate with coworkers.
Machinist must be able to interpret blueprints and other specifications to produce customer parts in accordance with Quality Policy.
