Position Overview:

Aids the Level III operator and performs simple setups and operates hydraulic and or mechanical presses to form, trim, punch, shape, notch, draw, or crimp various sheet metal alloys by performing the following duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Must have the ability to read basic blueprints.
  • Must be proficient with the use of measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, protractor’s, height gauges, pin gauges and radius gauges.
  • Visually inspects surface area of formed parts for excessive draw marks, split-outs, overlap or obvious flaws or non-conformance.
  • Cleans and lubricates machines. Removes scrap materials to proper locations after they are accounted for in computer system
  • Basic knowledge of shop math is required.
  • Must be able to read and understand shop routers and operation sheets.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and complete work with little or no supervision
  • Must follow all safety rules wearing eye glasses, safety shoes, gloves and face shield when required. 



Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma required; one year certificate from college or technical school is preferred
  • Three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents related to safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Must have knowledge of basic geometry to effectively comprehend radii, contours, and profiles.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Be a team player rendering respect to coworkers and management in all situations.
