Westaff Hiring Molding Machine Operators for Rubber Manufacturer in Portland, CT!

In this role, candidates are responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining molding equipment to produce precision-molded components. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and experience working in a manufacturing setting.

Hours: 6am-2:30pm, M-F  (optional OT available!) 
Payrate: $18-21/hr (based on experience)

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate molding machines (e.g., compression, transfer, or injection molding) in accordance with production specifications

• Load compounds or preforms into molds, monitor the curing process, and safely remove finished parts

• Inspect parts for surface defects, flash, or dimensional accuracy using measuring tools and visual checks

• Trim excess material (de-flashing) and perform secondary operations as needed

• Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs or adjustments on machines

• Adhere to all safety policies and report any unsafe conditions immediately

• Collaborate with quality control and maintenance teams to resolve issues and improve processes

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• 1+ year of experience in rubber molding or a similar manufacturing environment preferred

• Familiarity with compression, transfer, or injection rubber molding processes

• Ability to read and follow work instructions, technical specifications, and safety guidelines

• Basic mechanical skills and troubleshooting ability

• Comfortable working in a hot, industrial environment with exposure to rubber odors and chemicals

• Ability to stand, lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift

Work Environment:
