Westaff is Hiring for a 2nd Shift Press Brake Operator in Wallingford, CT!
Pay Rate: $22 an hour
Training: Must be available to train on 1st shift for 3-4 weeks.
We’re seeking a versatile Press Brake/Forming Floater to operate CNC press brakes and support various fabrication tasks in the shop. This role focuses on forming light-gauge stainless-steel components for outdoor kitchen products while assisting other departments to keep production running smoothy.
Press Brake Operator Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC press brakes (Cincinnati experience a plus)• Form light-gauge stainless steel to precise specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Verify part accuracy using calipers, squares, and other measuring tools
- Inspect finished parts and ensure quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and maintain a clean work area• Prep materials, deburr, label, and stage parts
- Move materials using carts or pallet jacks
- Assist with cutting/shearing and general shop duties as needed
- Support production flow across multiple work areas
Press Brake Operator Qualifications:
- 2+ years operating and programming CNC press brakes
- Strong blueprint reading and measurement skills
- Experience forming light-gauge material
- Familiarity with Cincinnati brakes is a plus
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills
