You will need to be able to stand for the whole shift and possibly learn multiple molding stations. Molders create rubber disks that are formed with large molding machines. So previous Machine Operation experience is a PLUS! MUST be able to read work orders in English.

Shift: 2nd shift 3pm-1230pm Mon-Thurs 9 hour shifts Fri - 8 hour shift with every other Friday OFF. OT may be offered as well.

  • Develops resolutions to problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures.
  • Follows specific, outlined, and detailed procedures; while being closely managed.
  • Liaisons primarily with direct supervisors and other managers or group leaders that direct the work flow.
  • Performs basic pleating skills on all machines, utilizing pleating skills with all types of materials.
  • Ensures basic endcapping is completed. Performs endcapping of all types of materials.
  • Completes the change out of tools and or temperatures to complete the endcap process.
  • While bagging: identifies gaskets and/or o-rings for completion of customer orders; determines the appropriate quantity of gaskets and/or o-rings and appropriate positioning for completed modules.
  • Takes responsibility for completing a quality visual check for correct configuration of the module. Identifies which bags are to be used and utilize the proper equipment (seamer) to complete the bagging of capsules.
  • While packing: identifies which boxes to utilize; determines which order needs to be boxed based upon work assignment and box accordingly.
  • While engraving, utilizes knowledge of module set-up for machine including part number and lot number.
  • Utilizes knowledge of order box sizes and how to create and assemble variations.
  • Maintains cleanliness of the shop floor and surrounding areas, in accordance to procedures
  • Able to Create Paperwork for Production Orders
  • Reviews inventory.
  • Performs Flow Test modules, and interprets and records proper reading on gauge. Properly places flow test modules into oven. Selects the proper pressure to test modules. Performs Pressure test, including completing wetting process and spin dry properly prior to oven placement.

Manufacturing experience preferred, but will train the ideal candidate

Job Summary: The Tower Operator is responsible for operating a 3 tier-vertical coating oven (Tower) to produce various sized rolls of coated fabric/ film material, while ensuring all customers’ quality needs and expectations are met and exceeded.- PLASTICS COMPANY!!!!

Job details:
• Perform Tower start-up, shut down and turnarounds
o Read and follow process sheet, work instructions and/or procedures to coat rolled fabric/film material
o Select rolls to be coated and carry/move to the pay-off, slide over shaft, inflate shaft and splice material to the leader
o Use various tools to move fabric/film material to/from Tower
o Follow internal environmental safety requirements for handling of coating formulation in work area
o Check materials and/or coating formulation using various calibrated and non-calibrated tools
o Recognize and correct processing problems 
o Determine through process decision making whether to continue running/operations or to stop the run
o Properly complete required paperwork/forms
o Input shop floor control data into computer systems (QAD/GEORGE)
o Perform periodic maintenance, as required/requested on Tower, to include cleaning ovens
o Maintain 5S housekeeping/organization within work area
o Willing to accept and receive frequent direction and assistance from various levels of management

• Complete visual inspections on material as it is processed through Tower run/operations
o Recognize defects, use proper descriptions and codes
o Manually adjust various machine components to correct defects as they arise
o Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to Tower Lead, Production Supervisor, and/or Process Engineer when necessary
o Properly complete required paperwork/forms
o Cut samples for Q.C.

REQUIRED:

1+ years Experience working in a manufacturing environment 
Accurately read a tape measure within 1/16 of an inch
Dependability and thoroughness, detail oriented
Basic computer skills

Position Summary:

This role is responsible to provide support to the quality control operations during shift operations to meet deliverables. This is an integral position within the Quality team interfacing with engineering personnel and other departments.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Verify product conformance to specifications
  • Perform di-electric testing of cable
  • Perform and assist with failure analysis
  • Calibrate measuring and test equipment as required
  • Partner with Engineering and Production to determine testing of job priorities
  • Work with PC to ensure timely production of quality products and materials
  • Maintain Quality Control documentationand records
  • Address quality issues as they arise and provide prompt resolutions working with appropriate and necessary personnel
  • Adhere to the core HCM goals of ISO9000 Total Quality Management and be an active participant and member of SGA Team.

  • Computer literacy skills utilizing Microsoft Office, with ability to learn a customized system
  • Must have visual acuity and ability to distinguish colors and pass a colorblind test to identify coded cables, products, and materials.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Standing at a work bench, assemble product from small and large components using small hand tools, including a screw gun
• Assembly tasks include:
o Clean product throughout the process
o Intall silicone and handles
o Set up and run pin printer machine
o Operate the dremel & dimple machines
o Perform work on the more complicated products including Biomet Microfixation
• Report labor in an accurate and timely fashion. Ensure traveler is filled out accurately.
• Stack parts on racks or appropriate table, ensuring line clearance so as to not mix product.
• Full knowledge of the final assembly shipping process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Familiar with manufacturing operations
• Team player and flexible to move from one task to another
• Basic math skills
• Able to help train Assembler 1
• Able to follow written & verbal instruction.

 Qualifications and Training Requirements

  • Minimum education High School diploma.  Some secondary or vocational training, or equivalent experience desired.
  • Basic reading and math skills sufficient to allow accurate execution of Product Specification Sheet and procedures.
  • Train as per Nylco CPG category in Procedure # SAFETY-TRAIN training grid. Retrain every three years in Hazardous Waste Handling.

Essential Elements

  • Read and understand product spec sheet.  Work from product spec sheet, written or verbal instructions.
  • Plan sequence of operations for a variety of first time and repeat products.
  • Set up and perform operations including inventory verification, proper coating weights and width, roll winding direction, adhesive appearance and temperature settings.
  • Use hand tools, small power tools, tape measure, micrometers, scales, pumps, gauges, roll handling equipment, forklifts, in-line measuring equipment, etc.
  • Be able to lift 50 pounds on a repetitive basis without mechanical assistance.
  • Inspect quality of raw materials and finished product throughout process.
  • Resolve and/or bring any problems to attention of department supervisor.
  • Complete coating run, package and store material.  Check with process control sheet or department supervisor for proper storing of material
  • Perform all specification requirements for testing and sampling.
  • Maintain established quality and quantity standards.  Follow prescribed safety precautions, established company and department policies, procedures, rules and regulations.  Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and questionable conditions to department supervisors.
  • Maintain work area(s) and equipment in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
  • Maintain daily production and product spec records as required and return completed spec sheets to production office at the end of each day.
  • Work with lab and business unit managers to develop new products and processes.
  • Properly label and store all raw materials.
  • Perform other duties as required or directed.
