Pay: $18.86/hour

Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday

Job Description:  

The Account Clerk is responsible for preparing, analyzing and maintaining accounts or ledgers for a state agency.

  • Reconcile accounts and subsidiary ledgers with general ledger;
  • Post transactions to summary journals;
  • Prepare a variety of accounting and financial reports from the system.
  • Prepare, corrects and adjusts entries prior to closing accounts;
  • Analyze procurement activity and creates receipts for purchase orders.
  • Disburse funds and assist in the preparation of program area budget requests.
  • Review accounts to ensure availability of funds before encumbrances and advise supervisor if account balance is not in agreement 


Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to multitask and set priorities with minimal supervision
  • MS Office (Excel, Work, Outlook, Etc.)
  • Experience or training in accounting
  • Familiar with laws, policies, and procedures related to government account and bookkeeping
