Position Summary: The wastewater department is responsible for the handling, processing and disposal of various liquid and solid wastes from the manufacturing process. Work is completed for this department through the use of basic machine operation, chemical dosing of the wastewater, and minor analytical work. The Maintenance Mechanic controls the efficient operation of all plant equipment by performing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and preventive maintenance.

Duties of the Maintenance Mechanic:

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses all maintenance failures

WESTAFF IS ACTIVELY RECRUITING FOR A PRESS OPERATOR ASSISTANT IN A LARGE PRINT COMPANY IN THE DURHAM AREA

$17.00 per hour

Hours 7am-3:30pm or 3pm-11:30pm (1^st & 2^nd shifts available)

DIGITAL PRESS OPERATOR ASSISTANT DUTIES:

• Prepare the press for a run by verifying job specs and setting up the press accordingly
• Inspects the fountain solution, inking systems, rolls of paper and the mechanisms related to the reels.
• Maintains proper inventory of paper. Records usage and spoilage on SPC report
• Ensures that the roll of paper is properly unwrapped, mounted and ready to be spliced
• Monitors the flow of paper throughout the run. Prepares and installs new roll when necessary.
• Works in conjunction with the press operator and other assigned Press Assistants in the preventative maintenance of the press.
• Assists maintenance personnel in troubleshooting and making repairs to press
• May assist with make-readies
• May adjust ink, solvent, and varnish to ensure that proper color is established or maintained as required by location.
• Adheres to and promotes all safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to the proper handling of hazardous waste, lock out-tag out rules and hearing and eye protection policies.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
• It is the responsibility of all Solution Delivery employees to follow the requirements of their documented process as defined in the ISO Quality Manual.

Qualifications:

• Must have previous experience in a printing environment
• Experience in the operation of various hand tools
• Must be able to work in a team environment.

Hourly rate of pay: $14.00.

1^st shift 8am-5pm-Monday-Friday

Maintenance Helper Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist skilled tradesman to include plumbing, electrical, carpenter, and painter assigned work.
• Knowledge of how-to operator power tools
• Diagnosis problems.
• Perform semi-skilled tasks in assigned buildings.
• Take direction from the Maintenance supervisor.
• Preform other related duties.

Requirements:

• Knowledge maintenance type duties
• 3-5 years’ experience working in building maintenance a plus.
