Westaff is Hiring for a 1st shift Bindery Operator in Manchester, CT!

Shift: Monday – Friday, 7am – 3:30pm 

Pay: $17 – $18 an hour, depending on experience

Bindery Operator Position Details:  

• Set up and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machinery, including cutting heads, folding, decorating, binding/gluing machines, and collating machines.

• Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and conformance to job specifications.

• Adjust machinery for different production runs, ensuring efficient operation and minimal downtime. 

• Load and unload paper, printed sheets, and finished products, ensuring safe handling and proper storage.

• Identify and resolve equipment issues and report any major mechanical problems to supervisors or maintenance staff.

• Keep detailed records of production schedules, machine maintenance, and completed jobs.

• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while operating bindery machinery.

Bindery Operator Experience:

• Previous experience in a bindery or printing environment is preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot bindery equipment.

• Familiarity with bindery equipment such as folders, stitchers, and cutters.

• Ability to read and understand production orders and job specifications.

• Basic math skills. 

• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
