Job title:  Operations Manager

WESTAFF IS LOOKING FOR AN OPERATIONS MANAGER IN THE CHELMSFORD, MA AREA FOR IMMEDIATE HIRE!

DIRECT HIRE position!!!!

HOURS: 1st Shift, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:00pm
PAY RATE: $100K+ depending on experience

Operations Manager Job Responsibilities:

The Production Manager is accountable for developing and executing strategies which achieve optimum safety, quality, service, productivity, and profitability. This will require well-rounded operations management experience including a deep understanding and experience with operations tactics, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strategies to drive results and meet budgeted targets.

They will be responsible for the following, either personally or, through subordinate supervisors and subordinate connections:

• Advance initiatives that promote and sustain the safety, health, security, and welfare of all employees.
• Maintain safe, clean, food safe and environmentally compliant production operations.
• Oversee all production activities in the facility, ensuring all are conducted in accordance with Company policies, principles, procedures, values, and standards.
• Continually assess current strategies, systems, procedures, performance, capabilities, equipment, facilities, and employees for opportunities to optimize safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Identify areas of opportunity and lead continuous improvement teams in plant production processes.
• Results driven, analytical, self-motivated and detail oriented with the ability to logically identify alternative solutions or approaches to complex problems.
• Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
• Participates in annual budget planning and development of capital plans to drive cost down and profitability up.

• Accountable to performance to annual operations budget, managing spending, and headcount to meet the plan.
• Assesses, mentors, manages and directs the activities of plant supervisors and other personnel.
• Ability to effectively set and communicate expectations & directives to manufacturing staff. 
• Coordinates with various departments and personnel across the site to ensure efficient operations within the plant.

Executes production schedule with attention to inventory and materials management requirements

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree required
• A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing TQM, ISO, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is preferred.
• Well rounded operations management experience including a deep understanding and experience with operations tactics, lean manufacturing and continuous improvement.
• Proven technical leadership with the ability to utilize structured problem solving methods to deliver results.
• Demonstrated competence to work with minimum supervision effectively with all levels in the organization.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with the willingness and ability to learn new systems.
