Schedule of the Plating Technician:
1st Shift: 7am – 3:30pm Monday – Friday – $21.05
2nd Shift: 3pm – 11pm Monday – Friday – $24.55
3rd Shift: 11pm – 7:30am Monday – Saturday – $25.55
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Loads and unloads tote pans of parts, stacks parts in baskets, racks and/or barrels, racks, unracks, cleans, etches, desmuts, pickles, bright–dips dyes, degreases, heat treats, plates, coats, wet processes, and dries parts. Uses electric hoists and manual lifting.
- Following prescribed procedures for processing.
- Fills baskets, racks, and/or barrels with parts to be processed and lowers material into the appropriate tank.
- Removes parts when the process is completed.
- Maintains the cleanliness of tanks and work areas.
- Monitors the temperature of solutions.
- Maintains daily production logs.
- Physically inspects processing to ensure quality of product.
- May be required to perform general utility work, material handling, assist with chemical handling and solution maintenance, and record keeping as needed.
- May be asked to troubleshoot simple to moderate problems.
- Is responsible for the quality of the product produced.
- Performs other duties as required.
- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school or general education degree (GED); or equivalent months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, and percent.
- REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
