Temporary Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk
Location: Alexandria, LA
Pay: $20/hr DOE
Schedule: Full-time
Duration: ~2+ months
A company in Alexandria is seeking a Temporary AP Clerk to support daily accounting operations. This role is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a high-volume inbox.
Responsibilities
- Manage and reply to the AP inbox daily
- Forward emails to the correct staff members
- Log, save, and organize all incoming AP invoices
- Assist with AP processing, including:
- General ledger coding
- Understanding cash flow and early-pay discounts
- Learning purchasing needs and operational expenses
- Applying the 3-Way Match (PO, Receipt, Invoice)
- Meeting daily deadlines
- Interacting with purchasing, receiving, vendors, HR, and plant supervisors
Qualifications
- Clerical or accounting support experience preferred
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to manage a busy inbox and learn new systems
- Reliable and able to commit to the full assignment
