Plant Operations Manager for a Direct Hire placement. Pay up to $95K a year!
Salary: up to $95K/year DOE and 15% Bonus Potential
Key Responsibilities
- Set the tone and expectation of safety (human & food) performance for the facility.
- Must be able to communicate and relate to the general workforce very effectively and must be savvy to the nuances of effective employee relations, effectively strategizing a plan that keeps morale high and employees engaged during times of change.
- Monitor key performance indicators to assess labor & variance to budget, yield dollars to budget, total delivered cost, and controllable expenses.
- Ensure that key objectives are met, such as cost, quality, on-time delivery, customer service, and environmental compliance.
- Ensure that production requirements are met in a safe, cost effective, and quality conscious manner, and in accordance with state, federal, and industry-specific laws, and regulations.
- Identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues related to the manufacturing process resulting either from equipment failures, non-conformance to formulas or procedures, or faulty processes.
- Be capable to lead root cause / failure analyses within a short time frame, with limited information while avoiding excessive cost exposure. Oversee this process, with final accountability over the decision or solution to the problems.
- Work with the Plant Engineer to develop and maintain the plant’s capital expense plans. Execute against capital plans by writing or delegating writing of capital projects and requisitions.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering, Business Administration, or Supply Chain.
- MBA a plus
Position Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a hands-on, roll up your sleeves Plant Operations Manager with full Operating P&L responsibility is required
- 5 years of experience in supply chain management, food manufacturing and food quality in roles of increasing responsibility within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of HAACP Food Safety Program is required.
- Experience demonstrating leadership of Human & Food Safety systems is required.
- Excellent problem solving, and reasoning skills required.
- Knowledge of and implementation of SQF in a food manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Demonstrated knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management and a record of accomplishment of achieving results against a comprehensive set of KPIs.
- Ability to analyze downtime and financial variance trends, identifying actions to deliver expected performance.
- Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting and metrics.
- Ability to effectively present information to all levels of the company; plant floor to executive leadership.
