What You Will Do:

  • Coordinates and performs receptionist duties.
  • Works with the public, agency personnel, and other requestors of information to determine specific needs and appropriate person(s) to provide assistance.
  • Maintains a database of research requests as required by the U.S. Census Bureau State Data Center Memorandum of Agreement.
  • Verifies invoices and codes charges to the appropriate responsibility centers.

What You Will Do:

  • Provides direct patient care and health care provider support under the direction of the Director of Nursing and/or Clinic Nurse Manager and Board of Nursing
  • Assists clinic providers and team members with diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures
  • Administers medications, vaccines and prescribed treatments
  • Conducts initial health interviews
  • Prepares patients for examination
  • Prepares and cleans equipment, exam rooms and treatment rooms
  • Performs routine laboratory procedures including venipuncture and CLIA waived tests
  • Maintains clinical and patient records
  • Monitors supplies and medications
  • Provides patient and family health counseling and education

Job Overview:

Centralized Intake (CI) is a child abuse and neglect hotline staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure that allegations of child abuse and neglect received are accurately assessed to ensure the safety of children. The hotline serves as the central reporting for all allegations of child abuse or neglect in Montana.

 

Responsibilities of this position include:

1) Gathers information from callers to determine whether statutory criteria for investigation are present;

2) Assigns priority response time and routes applicable reports directly to local offices to ensure identified safety threats are responded to in a timely manner to ensure child safety; and

3) Checks and verifies information from multiple data sources to determine additional requirements; including escalated safety factors of the alleged victim and field staff. 

 

Qualifications:

Required for the first day of work:

  • Knowledge of social work practices and principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete the essential functions, including using spreadsheet, word processing, database, email, internet and other computer programs.

 Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related human services field.
  • One year of human services experience working with children and families.
  • Other combinations of directly related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis; however, a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • A six-month completed internship with Child Protective Services will be accepted in lieu of the one year required experience.

 

Major Duties or Responsibilities

Conducts Initial Assessment of Allegations to Ensure Child Safety                                                                                         

  • Receives phone calls from mandatory and non-mandatory reporters of child abuse and neglect and follows an information gathering protocol to obtain sufficient information from the reporter.
  • Gathers information from callers to determine whether statutory criteria for investigation are present.
  • Assesses the call report and determines if the referral information warrants immediate or further investigation by field social workers and/or law enforcement intervention in accordance with statutes and the division’s safety practice model.  
  • Assigns priority response time and routes applicable reports directly to local offices to ensure identified safety threats are responded to in a timely manner to ensure child safety.
  • Prioritizes and assigns referrals for field investigation; notifies management and field social worker of critical information and ensures an immediate response when necessary. 
  • Completes CI Intake Assessment form and required documentation in CAPS and Doc Gen in accordance with policy and procedure to accurately document the information in the report received.
  • Contacts law enforcement as necessary for investigation of reports the division does not have authority to investigate and for welfare checks on children whose safety may be of concern; and enters reports from law enforcement when child safety issues are identified.
  • Responds to requests for emergency provision of legal consent to treat children in protective custody, runaways, and foster parents requesting assistance.
  • Serves as a central point of contact for the public and others seeking information to which they are legally entitled in regards to children in protective custody. 

 

Field Support Services                                                                                                                            

  • Performs background checks to assess prior child protective reports to assess current child safety or risk of harm to assist investigative worker in the field.
  • Obtains critical child protection or criminal history from other states when necessary to allow for accurate report determinations.
  • Checks and verifies information from multiple data sources to determine additional requirements; including escalated safety factors of the alleged victim and field staff.
  • Performs check of Violent and Sexual Offender Registry where need is indicated; and determine safety issues and alerts field worker of issues which may create a dangerous situation when responding to the call.
  • Testifies at hearings and in court when required regarding actions and responses to referrals.

 

Data/Reports                                                                                                                                   

  •   Records daily activity regarding types of calls received and other performance tasks.
  •   Prepares monthly unit activity reports as requested by supervisor.
  •   Provides support and assistance to field social workers by engaging in continuous quality improvement processes with supervisors to ensure that Centralized Intake is delivering appropriate information to field social workers to ensure the safety of children, families, and workers.

  • Coordinate with the repair shop for services like ski tuning, raft repairs, or boot fitting.
  • Assist with the rental process for rafts, kayaks, paddleboards, and canoes, including explaining rental policies, checking equipment condition, and ensuring customers are equipped with necessary accessories (e.g., PFDs, paddles).
  • Work closely with other department associates and the repair shop to ensure a cohesive customer experience.
  • Educate customers on safety practices for water sports and skiing, including proper use of equipment and adherence to regulations (e.g., Smith River waste packing requirements).

 

What You'll Bring:

·                     Providing expert advice on rafts, kayaks, skis, and camping gear — This role requires technical expertise in these areas to ensure customers receive knowledgeable guidance tailored to their outdoor needs.

  • Prior experience in retail, outdoor recreation, or customer service is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with rafts, kayaks, skis, or camping equipment is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of water sports equipment (e.g., rafts, kayaks, paddleboards) and ski equipment (e.g., downhill, cross-country, telemark skis, bindings, boots).
  • Familiarity with camping gear and outdoor activities is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and provide a welcoming, professional experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment (up to 50 lbs), stand for extended periods, and assist with loading/unloading gear.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

Duties:
  • The purpose of this nursing position is to assist the Public Health Department in all programs/tasks and Events on/offsite as needed/requested by department staff.  
  • It is preferred for Nurse to have an interest in the Tobacco Prevention Program to complete training, events, and outreach as required by program. 
  • Preferred for Nurse to be familiar with immunization schedule and recommendations to provide/give immunization and assistance to all ages, outreach events, and assist with billing services. 
  • Preferred but not required for Nurse to be familiar with communicable disease testing/outreach/teaching/state charting- on job training provided.
  • Preferred but not required for Nurse to be familiar with the Women Infant and Children program to assist when needed- on job/ state training is required for this program.

What You Will Do:

  • Reviews and assesses violent crime reports as reported to the police by crime victims, witnesses, etc.

  • Respond to Victims within a 48-hour period

  • Develop safety plans.

  • Contacts victims of violent crimes (particularly domestic violence); provides information regarding their rights and options and legal and investigation processes; provides a list of resources and helps establish needed services (i.e. shelter care, treatment and education programs, legal assistance, and financial aid).

  • Supervises volunteers, assigns excess cases to volunteers and facilitates training of volunteers.

  • Keeps statistical records of victim contacts.

  • Assists clients in filling out and filing protective orders; attends protective order hearings and other court proceedings with client for support.

  • Provides emotional support and crisis intervention for victims of crime and helps with referrals for health care, social services and psychological assistance.

  • Obtain restitution information from victims and provide alternate means for the victim to be compensated for damages incurred as a result of criminal behavior. This includes assisting victims with filing applications and preparing crime victim compensation applications and Victim Impact Statements.

  • Provide liaison and coordination between the Broadwater County Sheriff Office and prosecuting agencies such as the Broadwater County Attorney's and Townsend City Attorney’s office and various victim service organizations, mental health professionals, rape crisis centers and case follow-up. This includes monitoring victim restitution payments and notifying the county attorney of any delinquencies as well as working to return victim property held as evidence in a timely fashion.

  • Coordinates and networks with other crime victim advocacy programs.

 

 

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or criminal justice and one (1) year experience working with crime victims, OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of appropriate state and local laws relating to domestic violence and crime victims; legal terminology, court practices and procedures; modern office procedures to include personal computers.

  • Ability to: interview victims and obtain relevant information; communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; follow written and verbal instructions; prioritize tasks; track and monitor funds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and the public

  • Will use Personal computer, including word processing and spreadsheet and database software; phone, fax machine, copy machine.

  •  Must possess a valid Montana driver’s license and must be willing, occasionally, to be on call to assist crime victims at the scene
