  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.

Role Overview:

The Fitter/Combo Welder is responsible for installing, assembling, and welding piping systems used in the fabrication of shell and tube heat exchangers. This role requires proficiency in both fitting and welding to ensure the structural integrity and functionality of the piping systems.   

 Essential Duties:

  • Lay-out, fit-up, burn, arc gouge, plasma cut, grind and weld as necessary to form components   to meet required finish dimensions. This may require length adjustment based on material.
  • Prepare cutouts as necessary to meet drawing weld bevel requirements and standards.  
  • Grind weld material left by knockoffs as required to clean the part to standards.
  • Set up and performs jobs based on engineering drawings, shop practices, and procedures.
  • Perform internal quality check using appropriate measuring gauges and experience.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safe manner, following EHS requirements relating to PPE and Safe Working Practices.
  • Performs Heli arc welding, submerged arc welding, and manual welding on components as assigned.

Qualifications:

Pay: $11.31/ Hour

Hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM

            Friday: 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Responsibilities:

  • Promptly open the office at 7:30am Monday - Friday 
  • Be courteous and responsive to requests from students and department personnel
  • Monitor, respond and act on emails sent to departmental email
  • Answer departmental telephone and respond accordingly to caller requests
  • Assist with needs regarding teaching, research, and graduate student support
  • Assist with degree audits for students graduating in a given semester
  • Assist for course substitutions for transfer credit and electives as needed
  • Monitor office supplies, order as needed to replenish
  • Assist department head in creation of course schedules for upcoming semesters
  • Assist department head to adjust course schedules as required due to timing and conflicting space utilization
  • Record meeting minutes as needed
  • Serve as host to visitors to the department, assisting in appointment scheduling with faculty as appropriate and related duties required for a professional interaction with the department
  • Serve as host as department head interacts with visitors such as the department industrial advisors
  • Assist with various clerical duties
  • Respond to request for assistance from the department and college for college-wide events such as commencement and recruitment activities
  • Other professional duties as may arise within the scope of clerical administrative assistant duties
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, editable PDF documents, web browsers for online ordering, printing, filing, etc.

Requirements:

  • High School degree required. Vocational, Associates or Bachelor degree preferred
  • 2 + years job related experience, preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel, required. Peachtree and ACT preferred
  • Ability to cross mulit-customer levels

Responsibilities:

  • Represent the company and products in a manner which will reflect the best interest of the company
  • Acquire extensive product knowledge for strong, professional representation
  • Review and distribute daily e-mails to Sales Representatives, or Management, as needed
  • Print Shipping Manifest each morning for Shipping Dept.
  • Update Production Calendar
  • Proof all Sales Orders prior to production
  • Print labels, product forms, etc…
  • Answer phone
  • Confirm that ACT notes have been entered for each Sales Order
  • Filing
  • Update daily shield quota spreadsheet

Westaff is HIRING a Procurement Manager in Lafayette, La.

Hours: Monday-Friday

            8:00am -5:00pm

Pay: $50,000- $60,000/annually

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably within a public housing authority, government agency, or similar regulated environment.
  • Certification in public procurement (such as CPPB, CPPO, or NIGP-CPP) is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of HUD procurement requirements and federal contracting rules
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies, policies, and procedures in compliance with HUD regulations (24 CFR Part 85.36), Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), and other applicable rules.
  • Manage the procurement process including drafting solicitations (IFBs, RFPs, RFQs), evaluating bids/proposals, and negotiating contracts.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of goods, services, and construction related to public housing programs and agency operations.
  • Maintain accurate and complete procurement records and contract files for audit readiness and compliance monitoring.
  • Serve as the liaison with vendors, contractors, consultants, and internal departments to facilitate procurement-related communications and issue resolution.
  • Monitor vendor performance and contract compliance, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on procurement procedures, internal controls, and best practices.
  • Oversee and manage the agency’s procurement schedule, contract expiration tracking, and renewal processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Section 3 requirements, minority-owned business outreach, and other HUD procurement initiatives.
  • Prepare procurement-related reports for executive management and HUD, as required.
