JOB DUTIES OF THE 3RD SHIFT PREFORM OPERATOR

Operate a hydraulic preform press to load and unload fabric material and items to shape and press (imprint) into form; perform some hand trimming operations and other activities.

ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE 3RD SHIFT PREFORM MACHINE OPERATOR

• Make adjustments to controls for heat, pad pressure, ram pressure and time as referenced per work instruction; or, by issuing temporary ECNs.
• Perform a variety of hand and machine operations to load, unload and operate single stage, single or multiple cavity hydraulic compression presses to shape and imprint patterns fabric materials.
• Make necessary visual parts inspections.
• Have first and subsequent pieces inspected.
• Visually check parts prior to and at completion of machine or hand operations.
• Separate bad or questionable rejects.
• Count, identify, box, pack or stack completed work or items to be further processed and move to holding area.
• Perform various hand operations to trim excess materials.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS OF THE 3RD SHIFT PREFORM MACHINE OPERATOR

• As required or as necessitated by work loads or (un)availability of personnel operate clicker machine or fabric cutter operation
• Complete work sheets and work travellers, note job and job number, times worked, machines used, number of items completed, reject counts and other information.
• Move materials as necessary in the performance of duties or as directed.
• Detect and report improper operation of faulty equipment and questionable conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
• Maintain quality standards.

Westaff is hiring Material Handlers in St. Cloud, MN!

Pay: $24/hr

Schedule: Monday to Friday 7 am to 4 pm

Material Handler is responsible for moving raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the facility using a forklift. This position may also use cranes, hoists, hand trucks, and other warehouse equipment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Safely move, load, and unload materials throughout the warehouse.
• Accurately pick, process, and pack customer orders.
• Stock incoming product and supplies according to inventory plans.
• Verify items loaded and unloaded against documentation.
• Complete cycle counts and other basic inventory tasks.
• Identify and separate defective materials.
• Maintain accurate paperwork when required.
• Perform general warehouse cleanup.
• Inspect forklift at the start of each shift and report any issues.
• Follow all safety, ISO, and 6S requirements.
• Support the team by performing additional tasks requested by supervisors.
• Work directly on the warehouse floor around heavy machinery.
