PRESS OPERATOR DUTIES:
A die cutter operator sets up, operates, and maintains die-cutting machines to cut paper, cardboard into specific shapes according to design specifications.
Key responsibilities include reviewing job specifications, installing dies and adjusting machine settings, monitoring the machine’s operation for quality and safety, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting any production or mechanical issues.
The role also involves collaborating with other production teams, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring final products meet quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Machine Setup:
Install cutting dies, set up feeding mechanisms, and adjust various machine components and settings based on job specifications.
- Machine Operation:
Start and monitor the die-cutting machine throughout a production run, making necessary adjustments to maintain quality, speed, and efficiency.
- Quality Control:
Inspect finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and quality standards, flagging and isolating any poorly produced materials.
- Maintenance:
Perform routine preventative maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning of the die-cutting equipment to ensure it operates efficiently and safely.
- Troubleshooting:
Analyze and correct issues that arise during production, such as cutting or make-ready problems.
- Safety:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a printing environment required.
- Experience in the operations of various hand tools preferred.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.

PRESS OPERATOR DUTIES: Must have these skill sets to qualify.
- Set up & adjust KBA (Koenig & Bauer) /Komori presses for job runs to meet specifications.
- MUST have experience on the KBA (Koenig & Bauer) Komori press machines.
- Preform document review to ensure job requirements are known and understood
- Monitor product quality during production runs.
- Check product quality against the sample and establish quality standards and make corrections as necessary.
- Perform press repairs, maintenance, upkeep and cleaning.
- Follow Press-room procedures for control sheets, charging time & material, load tags, FSC stock and samples.
- Comprehensive knowledge of machine ability of different paper weights, sizes, kinds and colors to be able to identify paper conditions (i.e. excessive moisture or curling that frequently requires additional machine adjustment).
- Skills in making difficult adjustments to powered machines using hand tools (i.e. wrenches, screwdrivers, punches, knives) as well as more specialized hand tools usually furnished by the machine manufacturer,
- Maintain acceptable productivity standards while minimizing raw material waste.
- Oral and written communication skills a must.
- Keep work area clean and picked up.
- Handling large amounts of paper and paper rolls, load on machines.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Warehouse experience-building pallets, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in a printing environment required.
- Experience in the operations of various hand tools preferred.
- Must be able to work in a team environment.

Key responsibilities of a Machine Operator:

Production Technician
The Production Technician is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to maximize production and maintain high standards in safety and quality. Shift and Schedule: This is a full time position located in Essex, VT working 12 hour shifts on a 3-4 rotations. Flexibility to work overtime and holidays is required as scheduled.

N2 Friday-Sunday with every other Thursday 6pm-6:15am
Pay: $24.00 p/hr
