Toolmaker/Machinist

Primary Responsibilities:

Working independently, will perform a wide variety of tasks requiring a high degree of skill. Those tasks will include but are not limited to, design and fabrication of trim dies, working from prints to machine tight tolerance tooling, repair/maintenance of existing tools, assist with equipment and tool fabrication/upgrades as needed.

Normal Duties:

Following safe work practices, perform tight tolerance machining of tools using typical toolroom equipment such as lathes, mills (manual and CNC) and surface grinders.

Must be capable working with solid models and of programming CNC machine centers.

Must be able to read prints and sketches, understand tolerances and their affects on machining parts.

Should be familiar with metallurgy; be able to assist in recommendations for tooling materials.

Must be familiar with secondary finishing operations such as heat treating and tempering and their affects on parts so as to take those operations into consideration when fabricating tooling.

Maintain associated paperwork to support ISO/TS-16949 initiative.

Maintain reasonable stocks of tool steels and die sets to support business activities.

Work with Engineering to design and develop tooling and equipment upgrades to reduce costs, improve productivity or part manufacturability.

May be required to work with outside vendors and contractors.

Other duties as assigned.

Normal Working Conditions:

Will be exposed to oils, coolants, greases, maintenance and production chemicals. High temperatures, tight working spaces and time restraints will not be unusual.

May be required to assist with equipment installations and upgrades.

Required Skills, Education and Experience:

Must have significant, demonstrable knowledge of toolmaking, machining and tool design. This knowledge will include but not be limited to the safe operation of: lathes, mills, surface grinders both manual and CNC versions thereof.

Should have a combination of education and experience as follows:

Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program and 3-5 years increasing experience in tool fabrication, or 2 year degree or certificate in tooling/machining from a recognized education organization and 5-7 years increasing experience or 8-10 years increasing experience in a toolroom environment.

The Accounts Payable Coordinator is responsible for managing and executing the company’s accounts payable processes, ensuring the timely and accurate processing of invoices, expenses and maintaining financial records. This role plays a critical part in the financial operations of the company, contributing to effective cash flow management and financial reporting.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Review, verify, and process invoices and payment requests in a timely and accurate manner.
• Match invoices to purchase orders or vouchers, perform data entry, and assist with the reconciliation of accounts.
• Prepare and perform check runs, electronic transfers, and payments.
• Maintain vendor files, ensuring up-to-date and accurate information.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in billing.
• Assist with month-end closing processes, including the preparation of various financial reports.
• Maintain historical records by filing documents and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with the procurement and finance departments to improve payment processes and expense management.
• Monthly reconciliation of GL accounts
• Monthly preparation of journal entries
• Managing and auditing employee expenses and corporate travel cards
• Assist in monthly SOX self-assessment and annual external audits
• Assist in Year End 1099 tax filings

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of an Associate’s Degree is required in Accounting, Finance, or related field, however a Bachelor’s Degree in these fields is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in an accounts payable or general accounting role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• SAP, preferably S4.
• Experience with QuickBooks
• Experience with Concur
• Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, financial accounting, and general ledger structures.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.

Essential Duties:

• Review customer specifications to gain a comprehensive understanding of the customers’ design criteria and schedule to determine proper design criteria. Interpret and apply design codes and standards to ensure design products conform to approved design criteria.
• Attend pre-fabrication meetings with customers.
• Perform calculations using Compress and/or RCS to determine appropriate design and associated process from concept to fabrication.
• Prepare and release bill of materials as required by the project’s timeline.
• Coordinate with drafters to generate and review manufacturing drawings in compliance with applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and company standards.
• Select proper weld procedures to be used in fabrication of heat exchanger. Welding engineer is available to assist in getting procedures approved for use.
• Facilitate customer reviews via the document control process.
• Coordinate with the project’s estimator to process change orders.
• Issue work order releases to the shop.
• Disposition Non-conformances and Engineering Change Requests.
• Evaluate mechanical systems and products by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
• Support manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment or fixtures for fabricating, assembling, and installing components.
• Assure system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Interface with both internal and external customers to provide engineering assistance.

Knowledge – Demonstrated working knowledge of design and fabrication of shell and tube heat exchanger, pressure vessels or related custom engineered equipment. Possess working knowledge of ASME code, specifically section VIII and IX. Computer aided design knowledge. Fabrication knowledge / experience preferred.

Skills – Strong self-drive and sense of urgency is imperative. Excellent engineering skills including Materials and Statics is a pre-requisite. Comprehension of technical specification & requirements is a must. Proven ability with higher math is essential. Possess good communications in both written and verbal form. Hold strong problem solving, organizational, and time management skills.
