3rd Shift Welder – Job Description Position Summary: The 3rd Shift Welder is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling metal components according to specifications, blueprints, and safety standards during overnight production hours. This role supports continuous manufacturing operations by ensuring high-quality welds, maintaining equipment, and completing assigned tasks with precision and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Perform MIG, TIG, stick, or flux-core welding based on project requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings. Fabricate, assemble, and repair metal structures or parts. Set up, adjust, and operate welding machines, torches, and related tools. Inspect completed welds for quality, accuracy, and structural integrity. Follow all 3rd-shift production schedules to meet daily output requirements. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation. Perform basic maintenance on welding equipment and report issues. Use grinders, saws, clamps, measuring tools, and other fabrication equipment. Follow all safety procedures including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hot-work protocols. Complete required production and quality paperwork or digital entries. Communicate effectively with supervisors and next-shift teams for workflow continuity. Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. 1–3 years of welding experience (or technical school certification). Proficiency in one or more welding processes (MIG, TIG, Stick). Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently during overnight hours. Capable of standing, bending, and lifting objects up to [company-specific weight]. Knowledge of safety protocols in industrial environments.
