Description
The Deburr Technician is responsible for finishing, smoothing, and refining machined or fabricated parts by removing burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections. This role ensures components meet quality, safety, and dimensional specifications before moving to the next production stage. Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and experience with finishing tools are essential. Key Responsibilities Deburring & Finishing Remove burrs, sharp edges, and excess material from metal, plastic, or composite parts using hand tools, power tools, abrasives, and polishing equipment. Perform grinding, filing, sanding, tumbling, and other finishing processes as required. Ensure all parts meet surface finish requirements according to prints, specs, or work instructions. Inspection & Quality Control Inspect parts visually and with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Verify part dimensions and tolerances after finishing steps. Identify defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues and report them to supervisors or quality personnel. Document completed work accurately and maintain traceability records. Production Support Assist machine operators or assemblers by preparing finished parts for the next workflow stage. Maintain proper part flow by prioritizing tasks based on production schedules. Organize and label finished components to prevent mix-ups or damage. Tool & Equipment Maintenance Maintain deburring and finishing tools in good working condition. Replace worn abrasives, wheels, or pads as needed. Report damaged or malfunctioning equipment immediately. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety guidelines, including the use of proper PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.). Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area. Adhere to company policies, material handling standards, and quality procedures.
