Description
The Sit-Down Forklift Operator with Computer Capabilities is responsible for safely operating sit-down forklifts to move, load, and unload materials while also performing basic administrative duties, including using Excel, Word, and email to support shipping, receiving, inventory, and documentation tasks. This hybrid role requires strong attention to detail, accurate data entry, and the ability to work efficiently in both warehouse and office environments. Key Responsibilities Forklift Operation Operate a sit-down forklift safely to move, stage, load, and unload materials. Transport pallets, raw materials, and finished goods to designated storage or production areas. Conduct daily equipment inspections and report mechanical issues immediately. Follow all OSHA and company safety rules while operating equipment. Warehouse & Material Handling Assist with receiving, storing, picking, and shipping products. Maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment. Properly label, tag, and secure materials for shipping or storage. Support inventory counts and material tracking as required. Computer & Administrative Responsibilities Use Microsoft Excel to track inventory, update logs, create simple spreadsheets, and maintain records. Use Microsoft Word to generate or update forms, labels, instructions, and internal documents. Send and respond to emails regarding shipments, deliveries, material requests, and daily updates. Enter data into internal systems, such as WMS or ERP software (if applicable). Print and prepare shipping documents, labels, or receiving paperwork. Documentation & Communication Maintain accurate, timely documentation of moved, received, or shipped materials. Communicate with supervisors, drivers, and team members about material shortages, delays, or issues. Report discrepancies or damaged materials promptly. Safety & Compliance Follow all safety guidelines, including PPE requirements. Keep aisles, docks, and forklift traffic areas clear
