Yard / Logistics Manager

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Yard/Logistics Manager to oversee daily yard operations, material flow, inventory control, and logistics coordination. This role is responsible for managing yard personnel, ensuring efficient movement of materials, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Strong leadership, communication, and heavy-industry logistics experience are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all yard operations including material staging, storage, and shipment preparation
• Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with carriers, drivers, and internal departments
• Manage and direct yard personnel to maintain workflow efficiency
• Ensure accurate inventory tracking and documentation
• Schedule and oversee loading/unloading activities, including heavy materials
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant yard environment
• Conduct equipment and yard inspections; coordinate maintenance when necessary
• Work closely with warehouse, production, and management teams to support operational needs

Qualifications

• Previous experience in yard management, logistics, or industrial operations required
• Strong leadership and team-management skills
• Forklift and/or heavy equipment experience preferred
• Ability to read load sheets, material IDs, schedules, and documentation
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in industrial environments
• Reliable attendance and ability to work assigned shift
