Westaff is Hiring for a Quality Assurance Technician in Enfield, CT!
Flexible Shift: 8am – 6:30pm or 7am – 5:30pm
Pay Rate: $23 – 425 an hour, depending on experience
This full-time role supports daily quality operations in a commercial heat-treating environment. Overtime may be required based on production needs.
Quality Assurance Technician Responsibilities

Identify and distinguish customer parts accurately throughout all stages of processing.

Prepare samples and operate hardness testing equipment, including Rockwell and microhardness testers, as well as perform microstructure evaluations.

Conduct routine quality tests such as dew point checks, system accuracy tests, and temperature uniformity surveys.

Learn and follow the company’s quality management system, including ISO 9001:2015, CQI-9, and AMS 2750 standards.

Participate in internal quality audits and support continuous improvement efforts.

Maintain proper part identification and organization to prevent mixing or loss of traceability.

Inspect incoming and outgoing parts to verify compliance with customer specifications.

Support smooth product flow by following established procedures and completing assigned tasks accurately.

Report significant manufacturing or quality issues to the Heat Treat Supervisor or Operations Manager.

Ensure all required supplies and materials are available for daily operations.

Record and maintain all quality measurements, documentation, and reports.

Perform nonconformance investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective action documentation in a timely manner.

Sample parts during assembly to confirm they meet customer requirements.

Maintain a clean, organized lab environment and ensure all parts are properly labeled.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Operations Manager.
Quality Assurance Technician Minimum Requirements

At least three months of work experience, preferably in manufacturing.

Strong communication skills for interacting with coworkers, supervisors, and customers.

Ability to read and understand work instructions, customer orders, and technical drawings.

Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed.

Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

Attendance at job-related training sessions as required.

Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and work in high-temperature environments.

Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements.

Reliable attendance and readiness to begin work at the start of each shift.

Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
Quality Assurance Technician Preferred Qualifications

Experience in heat treating or metal finishing.
-
Two years of manufacturing experience.
-
Background in quality or inspection work.
-
Prior assembly and inspection experience.
