Local Government Agency – Administrative & Data Support
Location: 200 E. Washington Street, Floor 20, Indianapolis, IN 46204
Pay: $19/hour
Schedule: 20 hours/week, Monday–Friday (strong preference for Mondays & Wednesdays)
About the Role
A local government agency is seeking a detail-oriented Economic Incentives Intern for a fully onsite, short-term assignment. This position supports incentive-related programs that promote business investment, job creation, and economic growth within the municipality.
A core responsibility of this role is assisting with the migration of economic incentive data from a legacy software system to a new platform. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and comfortable working with data at a high level of accuracy.
What You’ll Do
- Support and execute data migration from an existing software system to a new platform
- Clean, validate, and prepare data for migration
- Review, reconcile, and verify migrated data for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with documenting data structures, workflows, and migration procedures
- Identify data gaps, inconsistencies, and process-improvement opportunities
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma required
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in economics, public policy, public administration, urban planning, finance, business, information systems, or a related field
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet-based data management
- Ability to learn new software systems quickly
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in economic development, municipal government, or public-sector data systems
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional office environment
Schedule & Assignment Details
- 20 hours per week, Monday–Friday
- Some scheduling flexibility, but Mondays and Wednesdays are strongly preferred
- Fully onsite at the Washington Street office (20th Floor)
- Short-term assignment (approximately 3 months)
- Parking badge provided for a designated garage one block from the building
- Pay rate: $19/hour
