Westaff Hiring Maintenance Supervisor for Metal Stamping Manufacturer in Farmington, CT!
Salary: Up to $100,000/yr (based on experience)
Department: Maintenance/Tooling Department
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead our Maintenance Department as our current supervisor approaches retirement. This role offers a stable first-shift schedule and an opportunity to guide and develop a skilled team!
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the Maintenance Department team on 1st shift.
- Train and mentor apprentices; ensure proper skill development and adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure timely completion of repairs.
- Apply machinist or tool-making expertise to fabricate, repair, and maintain equipment.
- Manage preventive maintenance schedules and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems; experience working with power press machines is strongly preferred.
- Support maintenance on metal stamping equipment, progressive dies, and related tooling.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of supervisory or lead experience in maintenance, machining, or tool-making.
- Journeyman Machinist or Journeyman Toolmaker required, due to the need for apprentice training.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting, machining, and fabrication skills.
- Experience with metal stamping, progressive tools & dies, and power press machinery is a significant plus.
- Strong communication, leadership ability, and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
