Westaff has a great opportunity for the Ascension Parish area.
NOW HIRING!! Receiving/Inventory Clerk to support warehouse operations which involves receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing materials while maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment. Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a warehouse operations setting and must have receiving and inventory experience.
Pay range: $22-25, temp to hire
Key Responsibilities:
• Must be able to distinguish and correctly identify industrial fabrication materials, parts, products • Assist with receiving, unpacking, organizing, storing, and distributing incoming materials.
• Accurately maintain inventory counts; reconcile inventory records with actual stock
• Match materials to heat numbers and MTRs (Material Test Reports)
• Check/verify materials dimensions
• Safely move materials to and from warehouse areas as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized and hazard-free warehouse space.
• Operate basic warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. while following all safety procedures.
• Complies with all applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures of the company.
• Perform other general warehouse tasks as assigned by supervision.
Qualifications and Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a warehouse or industrial environment preferred.
• Possesses strong leadership skills, effective communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., walk extensively, and stand for extended periods.
• Responds to questions and concerns appropriately & timely, with consistent follow up.
• Manages time efficiently and prioritizes tasks.
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing situations and workloads.
• Basic proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and data entry.
• Willingness to learn and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Reliable and punctual work ethic.
• Strong attention to detail is a must.
• Forklift certification is a plus.
Working Conditions: Heat, noisy, dusty, dirty, cold, chemical exposures, pinching hazards, stand for periods of time, able to bend, push/pull, twist, squat, crawl, lift & climb, requires 50 lb
