Job Summary:
The Thermoform Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining thermoforming machines to produce plastic parts or packaging according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and adherence to quality and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation
- Set up and operate thermoforming machines and auxiliary equipment (trimmers, stackers, etc.).
- Load raw materials (plastic sheets or rolls) and ensure proper feed into the forming machine.
- Start and stop machines safely and efficiently according to operational procedures.
- Quality Control
- Inspect formed products for defects such as warping, incomplete forming, or color variations.
- Record and document quality checks in accordance with production and quality assurance requirements.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning.
- Identify and report mechanical or electrical issues to maintenance personnel.
- Assist with changeovers, mold installations, and preventive maintenance as required.
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate production logs, material usage, and downtime reports.
- Communicate with the next shift regarding production status, issues, and maintenance needs.
- Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety rules, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in safety and process improvement meetings as required.
