Description
The Accounting Clerk is an important part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of community members by assisting low- and moderate-income families with a wide range of housing needs.
*This is a temporary position for while the current accounting clerk is on maternity leave but could turn into a permanent position for the right person.
Accounting Clerk Responsibilities:
- Input and process biweekly payroll and direct deposits in ADP
- Transfer payroll to the accounting system
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing payroll
- Complete monthly bank reconciliations for multiple checking accounts
- Code invoices, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes and enter into the accounting system
- Match the corresponding purchase orders and shipping confirmations to invoices
- Investigate and resolve problems associated with the processing of invoices
- Prepare weekly check runs, process checks, and send to vendors
- File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience working in an accounting office
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Ability to accurately complete bank reconciliations
- Ability to make mathematical computations with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to operate in a modern office environment using a computer, a copier, a scanner, and a server
- Experience using QuickBooks or related accounting software
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with non-profit fund accounting
- Experience with Abila MIP or equivalent non-profit accounting software
Pay:
- $22 hourly
Schedule:
- Monday-Friday- 8:30am-4:30pm (35 hour work week)
