Description
A Shreveport, LA company is looking for a Hydro Tester paying $19hr doe on night shift 6p-4a. Responsible for conducting hydrostatic pressure tests on piping systems, pressure vessels, and other components to ensure structural integrity and compliance with safety standards. This is a hands-on role that assists pump mechanics and requires mechanical aptitude. This company has great references.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and perform hydrostatic tests on pipes, valves, tanks, or other equipment
- Monitor test equipment and pressure gauges to detect leaks or weaknesses
- Maintain accurate test records and documentation
- Interpret engineering drawings and test specifications
- Safely handle pressurized fluids and test equipment
- Follow company and industry safety standards at all times
- Inspect equipment before and after tests for damage or wear
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to ensure compliance
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training a plus
- Prior experience in hydro testing, pressure testing, or similar mechanical work preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and test procedures
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in various environments (indoor/outdoor)
- Familiarity with hydro testing tools, pressure gauges, and recording equipment
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) or related field a plus
- Experience in oil & gas, construction, or manufacturing industries
Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment
