Westaff is looking for a 1st shift Production Technician in Billerica, Ma for immediate hire!

Payrate: $19/hour
Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-330pm
Work location: Billerica, Ma

Duties and responsibilities
The Production Operator is responsible for conducting assigned production tasks necessary to
produce membrane filtration elements.
• Follow all safety protocols and adhere to the Employee Handbook.
• After training, fully understand the operations for each production task so the task can be
successfully executed.
• Retrieve production materials and tools from storage and take them to the appropriate
workstation in order to conduct each production task. Return tools and excess materials
to their original storage locations and keep the production area clean and organized.
• Execute production tasks. These tasks include:
o Operate various pieces of automated equipment including a circular saw
o Measure, fold and tape plastic sheet
o Carry from one workstation to another, about 10 to 15 feet, multi-layer packs of
plastic sheet that are about 40” x 40” in size and weight 20 pounds.
o Lift from the floor to a height of 5 feet cylindrical parts that are about 42 inches
long, 8 inches in diameter and weight up to 40 pounds.
o Conduct defect testing using pressurized air and vacuum (both low pressure)
o Seal defects and glue necessary components together by hand using liquid
curable plastic adhesives.
o Test product filtration efficiency using a test system designed to operate safely at
up to 300 psi.
o In all cases, record necessary data and make observations. Report information to
the Production Foreman.
o Vacuum pack and box the filtration products. Assemble boxed products on
pallets for shipping.
