Maintenance Technician Position Open for Plastic Manufacturing Company in Shelton, CT!

The Maintenance Technician performs facility-related duties, maintains facility-related equipment, maintains production-related equipment, and maintains company vehicles. Carries beeper for 24-hour access in case of emergency maintenance. 

pay: $26 an hour 

Hours: 3:30-midnight Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30 on Sundays

Essential Functions & Responsibilities of a Maintenance Technician: 

• Maintains and installs facility-related equipment, such as compressors, tower water systems, heating and A/C system, elevators, lifts, exhaust fan units.
• Maintains and installs production-related equipment, such as tow motors, grinders, dust collectors, stretch wrap machines, gantries, trolleys, and hoists.
• Installs and repairs of leaking pipes, clogged pipes and air lines, etc., as well as electrical and lighting fixtures.
• Performs light welding and carpentry duties.

Skills & Competencies Expected of a Maintenance Technician:

• Ability to understand instructions and troubleshoot problems. Ability to work independently from blueprints, work orders, and schematics.
• 8 years minimum of related experience/training
• Certificates in welding, boiler repair, electronics, auto repair, and related fields a plus
• Must possess and maintain a CT driver’s license
