Job Summary: Assistant to Accountant. Maintain all accounts receivable and accounts payable up to general entries for month end utilizing the appropriate software programs and hardware in place to accomplish these task.
Responsibilities: Record daily deposits. Totals cash receipts and codes for computer use. Balances accounts receivable ledger. Calculate daily labor hours and wages for factory payroll. Distributing the labor wages and hours among the appropriate departments. Summarize cost sheets. Calculate labor and material cost for all cost jobs as they are completed. Prepares and summarizes data for sales tax filings. Make collection calls on past due accounts. Send monthly reminders on past dues. Advises Accountant of collection issues. Prepare in an accurate and timely manner all accounts payable vouchers, checking invoices for approval and correct account information. Maintains accounts payable, checking for problems and answering vendors questions.
Job Requirements: General knowledge and understanding of company billing and manufacturing policy and procedure. Knowledge of sales tax applications. Abilities to work with other people. Honest and forthright person with the ability to communicate clearly with other people. Confidentiality in all things pertaining to the work in the accounting office is a must.
