Supply Chain Engineer needed for a Manufacturing company in Naugatuck, CT!

Pay: 48.6-61.6k per year

Hours: 7AM-3:30PM M-F

The Supply Chain Engineer will oversee the purchasing and procurement functions. Will be responsible for maintaining and improving material flow into our facilities while constantly striving to achieve a positive Purchase Price Variance. This position will utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, help develop and execute plans to ensure team success, and strive to have a positive impact on both the manufacturer and all outside vendors

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to successfully lead a small dynamic team and have the capacity to grow and drive that team as the company expands.
  • Must be able to source new and replacement products
  • Consistently and aggressively monitor part usages and inventory levels and assure the supply team keeps Kanban levels reflective of current demand.
  • Make purchasing decisions supporting customer demand while optimizing inventory investment and cash flow.
  • Negotiate pricing across the board.
  • Conduct supplier evaluation’s and selection.
  • Manage suppliers to try and achieve 100% on-time supplier delivery.
  • Meticulously monitor inventory levels, both online and visually to ensure zero downtime on the production floor, while establishing and maintaining a lean inventory.
  • Work Closely with Engineering and Production Departments to work through any supply issues with part specifications, and EOL items.
  • Prepare monthly reports detailing any projects that have been in process, monthly PPV values, material shortages and any other topics as needed.
  • Other duties as required

Required qualifications & education to be considered:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • In lieu of a degree – significant experience in some combination of the following - Inventory Management, Materials, Purchasing, or Production Planning Control.
  • Ability to effectively operate in any organizational structure, lead a highly dynamic team and in a fast-paced environment with continuous challenges.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task and be flexible to ever shifting dynamics.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills required.
  • Must have a positive attitude and high energy level
  • Must be a self-starter and goal oriented.
