Job Summary:

The Butte Native Wellness Center (BNWC) is an Urban Indian Organization located in Butte, Montana.  A State of Montana certified outpatient facility, the BNWC center provides treatment services to individuals 18 years or older who are in need of primary care, mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and care of an individual with a substance use disorder or co-occurring disorder. The candidate is expected to work within a treatment team and cooperate with team members to provide client centered care in a harm reduction approach with self-determination and wellness as a focus.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides evaluations for people with substance use disorders

Provides one on one substance abuse counseling

Provides group treatment classes

Provides clinical mentoring, coaching, guidance, training and support to workforce onsite.

Develops and maintains tribal resources for staff, such as protocols and training related to Substance Use Disorder treatment and behavioral health.

Participates in regular meetings to keep staff informed and to seek feedback on clinical programming

Enters daily into an Electronic Health Record to maintain compliance with funders’ requirements

Ability to establish and to develop and strong working relationships with individuals from multiple tribes.

Analyze and implement effective treatment strategies following facility policies and state laws, rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience):

  • Must be licensed in the State of Montana as a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC). The  preferred candidate will be would hold dual licenses in the State of Montana as a LAC with a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC).
  • Five years of job related experience, preferably in substance use recovery counseling, clinical social work.
  • Two years’ experience working with the Native American population preferred.
  • Co-occurring treatment experience preferred.
  • Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Position overview:

This is a multifaceted job with daily fluctuations based on the needs of the community.  It requires strong RN nursing skills and knowledge as well as the ability to quickly change roles.  This position will facilitate programs that include home visiting, immunization clinics, communicable disease surveillance, follow-up, reporting and on-call status while ‘off the clock’, community collaboration and outreach, public health emergency preparedness activities, community educational offerings and innovative approaches to reach at-risk populations to improve public health in Park County.  This position is the direct supervisor to the nursing staff employed by the Park County Health Department and acts in a supportive role for the Livingston School District Nurses. The position requires the highest level of confidentiality.

Immunization

  1. To coordinate with all Park County schools and daycare facilities to facilitate immunization clinics that include influenza, HPV, TDap and meningococcal immunizations.

 

  1. To coordinate with local volunteer services and high-risk employers to facilitate immunization clinics and/or offer in office immunizations by appointment.  These organizations include EMS, law enforcement, Southwest Chemical Dependency program, school district, City/County employees and others deemed appropriate.

 

  1. To conduct timely flu vaccine clinics for community members and local businesses during appropriate times of year. Order vaccines and supplies as needed.

 

  1. To fulfill Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant immunizations requirements quarterly reports to the State.

 

  1. To maintain State Immunization, grant requirements including quarterly reporting to the State.  Acts as Immunization grant liaison.

 

  1. To maintain and update County Bloodborne Pathogen policy including completion of continuing education annually for County employees and throughout the year for new hire

Communicable Disease

  1. To assure communicable diseases are reported and treated accordingly to recommendations outlined in most current edition of “Control of Communicable Disease Manual” (compiled by the American Public Health Association) as well as guidance by the State DPHHS CD/Epi staff and in accordance with Montana State Code.

 

  1. To assume primary responsibility for communicable disease calls and questions from other County departments, local medical staff, providers, and State DPHHS CD/Epi staff.  Follows up in required time frame.  Although designated health department nursing staff can act as back-up, this nurse will be the first called.  These calls can happen outside normal hours of operation. 

 

  1. To respond timely to State monthly test calls upon receiving notifications.

 

  1. To work closely with Park County child care facilities/businesses, schools, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other areas of communal residence or operation to provide guidance should any communicable disease be reported.

 

  1. To fulfill Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant CD/Epi requirements including quarterly reports to the State.

 

  1. To maintain active surveillance of communicable diseases throughout Park County. And to enforce quarantine as needed, with guidance provided by Health Officer and Board of Health.

 

  1. To provide educational outreach to the Park County Community as time allows to prevent spread of communicable diseases.

 PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS (PHEP)

 

  1. To complete required FEMA training - listed under certification section.

 

  1. To maintain PHEP grant related duties, policies and protocols, and quarterly reports to the State.  Acts as PHEP grant liaison.

 

  1. To work in conjunction with Park County DES on countywide protocols and assists in facilitating yearly table-top or mock emergency preparedness exercises.

 

  1. To attend quarterly Local Emergency Preparedness Council meetings.

 HOME VISITING NURSE

  1. Maintains State DPHHS Montana Home visiting grant including reporting, invoicing, and data collection.

           

  1. Facilitates home visiting with parents and children who have asthma aged 0-18 years old.  Educates and works with families ‘where they are at’ to assist in controlling or eliminating asthma using evidence-based practices.

           

  1. Does outreach with providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, etc. to facilitate ongoing referrals for program.  Ideal outreach goal is 15 new referrals/year.

 

  1. Attends monthly web-based conference calls and yearly statewide conference, which may require in-state travel.

Knowledge:

This work requires utilization of strong RN skills and knowledge.  Nursing knowledge including infant and maternal assessment, immunization purpose and schedules and communicable disease physiological processes and treatment as well as emergency preparedness protocols.  It is essential to have the knowledge or ability to learn local and State resources related to public health.  Strong communication skills, innovation, and efficiency is required. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential with these referring agencies. Comfortable public speaking skills. Ability to work effectively with other professionals. Must be very familiar with medical terminology, medical and legal (HIPAA) guidelines. Ability to work independently while understanding the importance and value of collaboration is a must. Experience being an active member of your health community is valuable. A motivated and well-organized individual is a must in this multi-faceted job.  Also a must is an individual who is able to work with people of varying backgrounds and is able to set aside judgements and meet people ‘where they are at’. 

 Education and Experience

Must have a degree (minimum Associates) in Nursing.  Must be a Registered Nurse. Experience working as a nurse with 3-5 years is preferred.  Experience working with the general public and people of varying backgrounds is needed. Experience with medical billing will be helpful. Experience working in the public health field would be terrific!

Title: Accounting Clerk II

Pay: $18.33-22.61/hour DOE

Position overview:  This position is responsible for assisting the Finance Director in the budgetary management of County funds. This includes bi-weekly payroll inputting, processing payroll checks, and processing checks related to payroll, included but not limited to, taxes and benefits.

 Assigned Duties & Tasks: 

1. Assists with the accuracy of data entered into accounting software by performing and entering any necessary manual journal entries, posting monthly interfaces for the treasurer and providing basic general ledger reports as needed or requested.

2. Ensures payroll is processed and completed accurately by scheduled payroll date. Delivers paychecks and NOD’s. Submits and reconciles vendor payments, tax deposits and direct deposits relating to payroll. Completes Quarterly Reports, 941’s, workers’ compensation and unemployment tax reporting adhering to County, State and Federal rules and regulations pertaining to payroll.

3. Verifies and balances accounts to the treasurer’s cash report with local school districts and other agency funds; processes and provides monthly reports.

4. Assists the Finance Director with County annual grants, payroll and preparation for auditing. Cooperates with external auditors in the auditing process.

5. Helps coordinate county cell phone program and plans and assists with claims processing and reconciling for refuse billing, refuse tags, burn permits, Landfill Trust and CDBG Revolving Loan funds.

Education and Experience:  Knowledge, skills, and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to post-secondary curriculum or vocational program in accounting and/or equivalent with 1-2 years job related accounting experience involving the implementation, maintenance and review of a financial and statistical record keeping system. Additional training or experience in governmental or not for profit accounting is preferred. Prior experience in governmental accounting and computerized accounting systems is preferred. Basic knowledge of general office equipment such as computer, copiers, printers, phone, and fax machines necessary.

Position overviewPosition oversees the day-to-day operation of PCFP Facilities.  Responsible for coordinating and executing events and engaging the community on PCFP activities through marketing and outreach. Effective communication abilities are critical to the position, as is being available to the public and co-workers in a kind and professional manner. Occasional evening and weekend work is necessary and some flexibility of schedule is required.

 Assigned Duties & Tasks: 

  1. Daily Administration of PCFP Department

a)     Make safety of self and others a top priority at all times.

b)     Work with the public and accurately and timely completing/overseeing the following duties: schedule buildings and grounds for rental purposes, record and maintain accurate records of expenses and revenues with the PCFP Director. 

c)     Retain and track records of customer interactions, facility rentals, i.e., RV storage, horse stalling, Exhibit Building and/or all building and grounds rental. 

d)     Update county website, online reservation system and ticketing websites.

e)     Attend monthly Fairgrounds & Parks board meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes.

f)      Work with the Facilities & Maintenance Technician to maintain accurateinventory of facilities, keys and supplies.

g)     Work effectively with Facilities & Maintenance Technician to ensure security of buildings and grounds with lessees before, during and after events.

h)     Purchase supplies needed up to $200.00 for the upkeep and maintenance of the facilities, within budget. 

i)       Be available to the public in a kind and professional manner.

  1. Fairgrounds Management

a)     Assist with all clerical, secretarial, and receptionist duties as required by a county government office, and oversee the organization and coordination of events and functions.

b)     Respond to inquiries by the public and others via email, telephone, written and other correspondence in a timely manner.

c)     Maintain accurate electronic and hard copy records and record payments.

d)     Assist walk-in customers with camping, horse-stalling, etc.

e)     Oversee the online reservation systems for horse stalling and camping reservations.

f)      Work with Director to organize and manage county sponsored events.

Marketing & Community Outreach

a)     Research and identify potential county-sponsored revenue centers and events including determining financial feasibility through budget development and timeline.   

b)     Identify sponsors, vendors and partners for county-sponsored activities and events and help develop sponsorship prospectus and fees.

c)     Use desktop publishing tools including Microsoft Publisher, Adobe InDesign, or other software to develop marketing materials.

d)     Create and distribute promotional materials using MailChimp, email distribution lists, social medias outlets including Facebook, Instagram and SnapChat.

e)     Create newsletters & visual summaries of PCFP activities to distribute to the public.

f)      Develop messaging for events and update and maintain digital sign at marquee accordingly. 

Education and Experience:  The required knowledge, skills and abilities regularly obtained through a High School diploma and two to four years of related work experience. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Experience in the realm of business administration such as: secretarial, clerical, accounting, public relations, janitorial, computer (Microsoft Office Suite including, Excel, Publisher, Word), social media is needed. Those with marketing experience and technologically savvy applicants will really enjoy this opportunity.
