Westaff is partnering with a well established company in North Haven, CT 
who has an Immediate need for an HR Assistant/Recruiter
Monday through Friday 8am-5pm

The HR Assistant will perform the following tasks:

  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Recruit for permanent positions such as:  forklift drivers, order pickers, packers, shipping and receiving, etc.
  • Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, experience and aptitude
  • Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrate
  • Provide recruiting reports to the rest of the tea
  • Assist with Benefits, Orientation, etc. 
  • Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media.
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates


  • Proven work experience as an HR Assistant/Recruiter (2-3 years minimum)
  • Solid ability to conduct interviews 
  • Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference checks, background checks, etc.)
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office; HRIS experience preferred) 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong decision-making skills

 This is a full time, temp to permanent opportunity
