Westaff is partnering with a well established company in North Haven, CT
who has an Immediate need for an HR Assistant/Recruiter
Monday through Friday 8am-5pm
The HR Assistant will perform the following tasks:
- Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
- Recruit for permanent positions such as: forklift drivers, order pickers, packers, shipping and receiving, etc.
- Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, experience and aptitude
- Onboard new employees in order to become fully integrate
- Provide recruiting reports to the rest of the tea
- Assist with Benefits, Orientation, etc.
- Source and recruit candidates by using databases, social media.
- Screen candidates resumes and job applications
- Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates
- Proven work experience as an HR Assistant/Recruiter (2-3 years minimum)
- Solid ability to conduct interviews
- Hands on experience with various selection processes (phone interviewing, reference checks, background checks, etc.)
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office; HRIS experience preferred)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong decision-making skills
