OPERATIONS/COST ACCOUNTANT III

This position will assist with costing and budgeting efforts, support gathering information for analysis efforts within the facilities and for finance, lead and improve our inventory system close process and compile company level reports at the end of each period.  The Cost Accountant III will also analyze monthly metrics and report key findings and make recommendations to the stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Compile, understand, explain company spending;
• Compile, analyze spending & budget metric variances;
• Assist Operations Accountant 1;
• Monthly inventory & COGS close process;
• Inventory subject matter lead;
• Cost reduction/control;
• Cost methodology for product lines;
• Semi-automated inventory software;
• Implement process improvement and monthly financial close;
• Conduct cost studies and prepare/present findings and make recommendations;
• Quarterly and yearly cost reviews;
• Independently develop analysis templates and models within Excel

Qualifications:

• Bachelors' degree in accounting or business preferred but may consider an Associates and combination of relevant work experience;
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with team members in various positions;
• Strong computer skills, with advance Excel user capability;
• Effective communication, reporting and presentation skills;
• Excellent planning and time management skills;
• Sound understanding of accounting principles;
• Occasional travel to all plant and administrative sites may be needed.
