Florence Crittenton is seeking a Safecare Home Visitor to join their team in Helena, MT!

Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday 

Pay: $17/hour 


Florence Crittenton (FC) provides comprehensive services to strengthen families and build a stronger community. We do this through residential, outpatient, community, and early childhood programs. The SafeCare model is an evidence-based home visitation program that has been shown to reduce child maltreatment among families with a history for maltreatment or with risk factors for maltreatment. SafeCare website

Experience and Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED with 3 years of supervised work experience with young children and/or families; OR
  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Social Work, Human Services field, or related field, preferred;
  • One-year experience working with young children and/or families, preferred;
  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory background check, and a health statement are required for all employees at the Florence Crittenton;
  • Must provide own vehicle, have a clean driving record, and provide proof of vehicle liability insurance.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with limited resource populations and families with diverse backgrounds and experiences;
  • Ability to communicate and work with a diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic families participating in program in a sensitive manner;
  • Ability to work with community resource providers;
  • Ability to navigate technology and submit client data in a thorough and efficient manner;
  • Ability to resolve conflict in a straightforward and timely manner;
  • Ability to be friendly, empathetic and adept communicator;
  • Ability to treat both staff and clients with respect;
  • Ability to gracefully accept guidance and respond to feedback;
  • Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing with individuals and in groups;
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries;
  • Ability to work as a member of a home visiting partnership; to share responsibilities and duties;
  • Ability to set priorities, be organized and be a self-starter;
  • Have a strong attention to detail;
  • Experience working with families, in both group and individual settings;
  • Team player with leadership skills;
  • Have adequate knowledge and application of computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and PowerPoint
  • Have basic working knowledge of trauma-informed practices.
