A company located in Thomaston is looking for a motor assembler!

This company manufactures motors used in military and marine corps!

 1st shift: 7am -3:30pm, lots of overtime offered

 Pay: $16-18 based on experience

 

MOTOR ASSEMBLER RESPONSIBILITIES:

For new motors:

-parts are stockpiled until there are no parts missing

-armature or rotor is balanced on balancing machine to eliminate vibration and noise

-parts including frame, brackets, strator, rotor are assembled based off the drawings

-testing checks for opens or grounds, motors go to painting

 

For repair motors:

-motor goes through evaluation: being torn down, all parts identified and recommendations concerning what parts should be replaced are entered into Evaluation & Repair Report and the motor is stored

-evaluation is checked by QA and all information is sent to sales, the motor is either scrapped or refurbished If government motor it is scrapped and witnessed by a Gov representative

-if motor is refurbished it is put on a local manufacturing department schedule

-Use of refurbisher kit, all parts are washed in dielectric solvent

-Armature or Rotor is balanced on Balancing machine to eliminate vibration and noise

-Motor is assembled based on drawing and parts list, then goes to inspection, testing and painting

-Motor is returned for installation of stencils, nameplates and external hardware

 

Job Requirements

 

MOTOR ASSEMBLER SKILLS:

-setup/operation/maintenance, moderate level of proficiency requiring occasional supervision

-can assemble most types of motors including Armature or Rotor balancing

-inspects own work, problem solves

-read assembly requirements or travelers documents 

-maintain a clean and safe work area

-ability to cross train

-hs or trade school graduate preferred/ 2 years of similar experience
