We are looking for a Senior Safety& Environmental Specialist for a local Manufacturing Company.
This position can be based in any of the NAFTA Manufacturing plants. Reporting to the Regional EHSE Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the NAFTA Region EHSE processes and programs for all locations to ensure compliance to federal, state and local regulations policies and standards. The scope of responsibility for this position includes: Manufacturing plants, Parts Distribution Centers, Technical/Service Centers, Corporate Offices locations, proving grounds, and includes Current Operations, Acquisitions, Divestures, Mergers, Closures, etc. This position supports various sites in the NAFTA Region in achieving world class status and impact savings through the elimination of occupational injuries/illnesses, and safeguarding the health and safety of all employees. Additional responsibilities include: Internal Audit and mock OSHA Inspections processes and necessary follow up to ensure compliance to management systems standards, regulations, and advise local and regional leadership of findings Analyze injury/illness experience, identifying/tracking injury correlation, determining root causes, establishing corrective action measures and communicating this information to location leadership Assist with routine environmental reports, permit applications, inventories and surveys; including data acquisition, documentation, record keeping, monitoring, reviewing, approving and submitting to regulatory agencies Assist with EHSE regulatory enforcement activity Support standard NAFTA programs / procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and reduce Safety hazards associated with location operations Remain current on relevant regulatory requirements and serve as the regional technical expert Support of EHSE IT systems Assist with EHSE performance tracking and reporting
The qualified candidate will have:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental, Safety, Industrial Health, Science, Engineering or other technical discipline
Very strong background in safety risk identification and mitigation
Minimum 4 or more years of professional experience in EHSE management or specialist capacity, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
The ideal candidate will have:
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and workers compensation
Experience with lean manufacturing
Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead change, network, build teams and influence
Excellent computer skills to include MS Office suite
Strong leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills
