Westaff has a Temp to perm openings in North Haven for an Order Entry/Customer Service Rep!

Pay rate:  $14/hr  

Full time hours, 25-30 hours per week, M-F  (Must be able to work until 6:00 pm)

Hours may increase over time!

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB SUMMARY:

  • Answer incoming calls, retrieve orders, and accurately enter orders.

 PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Retrieve orders through e-mail, telephone, or fax and accurately enter orders.
  • Enters orders and sample requests into computerized system using numeric and alpha entry.
  • Fulfill customer needs to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist/support customers and sales personnel with orders, samples, questions, etc., as needed.
  • Ability to handle time of high call-volume (holidays, month-end, etc.)
  • Participates in up-selling programs for the department.
  • Stays informed of department policies, company direction, projects and issues.
  • Process pick-up and return slips for completion through proper channels.
  • Perform tasks and reporting related to pick-up and return, credit and out of business requests.  Submit information to State Regulatory Department for approvals.
  • Process requests for same-day-delivery orders, monthly close-out, pre-sell, and holiday items.
  • Enter product information/quantities during physical inventories.
  • Review pricing applicable to customer accounts to insure order accuracy.
  • Provides switchboard coverage for break/lunch/vacation coverage as required.
  • Knowledge of E-commerce site, application process and customer registration.
  • Set up and maintain E-commerce site customer applications, customer lists and daily health checks.
  • Maintain high profile customer accounts, update pricing as needed, complete discrepancy reports and perform all tasks related to maintaining said accounts.
  • Rely on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned related to the requirements of the job.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides switchboard coverage for break/lunch/vacation coverage as required.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

WORK/KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Proper phone etiquette, professional attitude, customer focus and team orientation.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • 9-key entry and typing skills.
  • Knowledge, use and application of Microsoft Office Suite and JD Edwards software.
  • Associates Degree or higher preferred. High School Diploma a must! 
  • 5 years of Customer Service (non-retail) experience required.

 SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

  • Ability to follow policies, procedures and State regulations.
  • Must be eligible to obtain/maintain State of Connecticut wholesalers certificate.

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Mostly desk work.
  • Long periods of sitting, telephone and computer use.
