  Job Description:  As a Lead Quality Engineer, you are responsible for the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing quality plans. You will participate in Production and Process Control activities and provide guidance to quality system and production processes by developing inspection /testing plans, performing risk analysis and developing process validation protocols, were applicable, and reports to ensure the quality of new and modified products and processes. The Lead Quality Engineer evaluates production data, processes, and suppliers, and assists in driving the Company’s continuous improvement initiatives. He or she should be a tactfully assertive self-starter; quick to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to get the job done. Attention to detail, strong work ethic, and a willingness to think outside the box are all critical in this role.

Job Requirements

Skills & Experience:  Must Have

  • BS in Engineering or related technical discipline preferred, OR AS in Engineering or related technical discipline along with equivalent work experience
  • At least 1-3 years in a manufacturing quality role
  • Familiarity with quality certification management (ISO)
  • Understanding of Six Sigma Principles
  • Understanding of and experience with Minitab Statistical Software and statistical process control
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with basic MS Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Computer savvy – Experienced with sophisticated optical measurement systems
  • Ability to work in teams and achieve a common goal
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks
  • Ability to read drawings (blueprint reading)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong leadership skills

Preferred

  • Spring, Wire, Automotive, Medical or Steel Industry experience
