Sheet Metal Assembler Needed for Near Downtown Indianapolis Shop on 1st Shift


Pay: $13.50/hour

Hours: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday

Position Overview:

Position is in training to plan, lay out, fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal parts, equipment, and products.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
  • Lays out and marks templates for hole locations or final dimension.
  • Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as arbor presses, metal workers, belt sanders, band saws and other machines necessary to perform required operations.
  • Trims, files, grinds, de-burrs, buffs, and smooths surfaces using various hand tools as required to ensure good fit-up of details.
  • Inspects assemblies and components for conformance 

Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Ability to read and interpret document such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must have knowledge of basic geometry to effectively comprehend radii, contours, and profiles.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.

Additional Requirements:

  • Adhere to rules and regulations of a FAA Safety Sensitive Position.
  • Must obtain OAP stamp
  • Must be able to work overtime when required
  • May require fork lift certification.
