Westaff is looking for a Telesales Rep to sit in Colchester, CT, who will be initiating outbound calling campaigns to existing and past customers.  Focus is on developing constructive and cooperative working relationships while setting the platform for future sales growth.



  1. The Telesales Rep will initiate telephone contact with existing, past and potential customers.  Captures customer specific information pertaining to available programs, budget and purchase needs.  Identifies reasons why customers are no longer purchasing and reports to management.  Extends special offers and promotions designed to initiate customer purchases.


  1. Develops constructive and cooperative work relationships.  Maintains prospective client pool through telephone networking and campaigns.  Adjusts sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific customers.  Structures follow-up plan adhering to department call protocol.


  1. Telesales Rep will be responsible for generating sales leads based on customer contact.


  1. Conducts client or market surveys in order to obtain information about current, past and potential customers.


  1. Explains products, services and prices and answers customer questions.


  1. Maintain records of contacts, accounts, and orders.


  1. Assists in the development of future call campaigns.


  1. Contacts customers with products on backorder, recommending alternate product choices.


  1. Facilitates catalog requests and processes customer orders for merchandise as needed.




Job Requirements

Qualifications of the Telesales Rep:

  • High School diploma required
  • Prior telemarketing/outbound calling experience preferred
  • Computer literate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to work with little or no direct supervision
  • Attention to detail


Key Measurements:

  • Must make an average of 60 calls daily to existing and new customers.
