2nd shift machine operator who can train on First shift 6+weeks

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Operates and maintains molding line machines safely and efficiently.
  2. Monitors simultaneous machine functions, making minor adjustments as necessary.
  3. Breaks up to 5,000 lbs. of chocolate per shift to run equipment efficiently.
  4. Tempers the chocolate.
  5. Accurately completes documentation including identifying type & weight of chocolate.
  6. Performs filter checks.
  7. Clears jams and performs light trouble-shooting.
  8. Performs changeover of equipment as needed.
  9. Provides recommendations for reducing scrap, shortening changeover time and increasing efficiency.
  10. Communicates with packing and maintenance personnel regarding problems with machinery and/or product.
  11. Knowledge of setting up and operating one molding machine.
  12. Cleans per appropriate practices and procedures and sets up materials for next shift.
  13. Fully complies with safety and food safety & quality policies.
  14. Follows all safety rules regarding machine operation and proper guarding.
  15. Adheres to all GMP standards and keeps work area clear of debris.
  16. All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education, Experience, and/or Skills Required:

  1. Molding Operator experience preferred.
  2. Knowledge of how to temper chocolate.
  3. Ability to read and interpret documents such as production orders.
  4. Knowledge of specific weights of chocolate and type of chocolate to use to satisfy the customer per the instructions of the Shift Supervisor.
  5. Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, operate machines and visually inspect parts produced.
  6. Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly.
  7. Physical ability to do work requiring lifting, frequent stooping and bending.
  8. Physical strength sufficient to lift and carry 30 pounds frequently and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
