I. General Position Summary The Welder is responsible for welding metal components utilizing proper welding equipment to manufacture parts and assemblies as required, meeting defined production schedules. a. Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities ? Build welded assemblies for products and changes to existing products per engineering documents and established production standards. ? Set-up, and lay out work using fixtures and guides to repair, modify, or fabricate parts and assemblies. ? Arrange parts for welding and staging processes. ? Review finished assemblies and parts to ensure accuracy against drawings and BOMs. ? Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required. ? Operate and/or use related equipment and tools necessary to complete parts to specifications, which include forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders (portable & bench), cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, tape measure, etc. ? Diagnose process and quality issues, and make improvement recommendations to department manager. ? Reject defective parts and material according to policy. ? Ensure safe, careful use, treatment, and maintenance of tools and equipment. ? Participate in and attend cross functional meetings as required. ? Performs other duties as assigned by management.
