Works with premanufactured PC Boards. Uses a programming device to program boards. Uses a predefined process, a power meter, and a frequency meter to determine the board is programmed properly and meets specifications to be used in finished product.
Needs the ability to understand a go/no go type test, spot abnormalities, and bring issues to supervisory staff as necessary. Should have enough aptitude to perform an “MVP” test on equipment when in doubt.
Should have good vision (parts and solder joints can be small) as well as good manual dexterity. They should have some soldering ability (or a compelling skill that makes us think they can be a good solderer) as they will be regularly soldering leads on small motors, and doing their own inspection, as well as assembling through hole mounted parts to PC Boards from time to time. The perfect candidate would have specialized talent enabling them to work confidently and consistently soldering and replacing tiny electronic parts, using tweezers and a soldering iron on surface mount PC Boards, as we do make in house engineering changes.
Previous knowledge of electronics is a plus, however all necessary education can be provided on the job if the candidate has some basic aptitude. Candidate should have basic computer skills – they will be required to open and close .pdf documents, navigate a file system, and enter data related to daily labor time and output.
They should have basic communication skills which allow reading and interpreting standardized process instruction written in English, and should be label rejected materials along with a reason for rejection and place in a reject bin. The PC Lab staff is in the business of providing all assembly lines with “certified” parts for use in finished goods.
