Job Summary
Warehouse Supervisor is responsible primarily for supervising and directing the kitting process, as well as receiving, storage and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives. When needed, has general responsibility for coordinating all warehouse activities on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in establishing schedules.
- Ensure that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are completed properly.
- Apply sound communication and leadership techniques in assigning work and coaching associates.
- Supervise the kitting operation, ensuring that exact number and type of product(s) are included in each kit.
- Carry out quality control activities prior to releasing a kit to be shipped to customer.
- Ensure assembled kits, inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.
- Perform data entry, run reports and complete other tasks pertaining to the kitting operation utilizing the WMS (warehouse management system) and/or customer database system.
- Carry out customer service activities such as responding to inquiries, processing orders and handling complaints, in a prompt, courteous and effective manner.
- Maintain active communication via email and/or other means with the customer, management, and other stakeholders as needed.
- Supervise checking and unloading or inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product, and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high levels of productivity.
- Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.
- Communicate with drivers assigned to Amazon Account to ensure that the deliveries are made on time to the Amazon facilities.
- Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Compute and analyze daily, weekly production metrics.
- Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.
- Maintain product locator system.
- Ensure the optimal utilization of space.
- Rotate product as appropriate.
- Ensure the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.
- Maintain a clean, neat and safe work area.
- Assist in maintaining warehouse security.
- Open and close building in the absence of the Warehouse Manager.
- Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.
- Attend warehouse planning meetings.
- Act as liaison between employees and management.
- Communicate industry and brand knowledge to associated.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Pick, stage, label and pack product and materials based on kit requirements, ensuring that the exact number and type of product(s) is included.Load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, or other power equipment.
- Maintain equipment and materials in a net, clean and orderly fashion.
- On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner following prescribed work methods and OSHA standards.
- Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
- Efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
- Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers or containers.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage. Report quality variances.
- Label, sort, wrap, pack, un-pack & re-pack or provide other value added services as required
Experience
- High School Diploma and at least 2-4 years of experience in related field
- Good leadership and communication skills.
- Familiarity with computers and material handling equipment is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), WMS software.
- Familiarity with MHE is required.Must have excellent work habits
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and proactive approach to addressing issues
Physical Requirements
- Must be capable of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level and crouch on a frequent basis.
- Must be able to use proper techniques to lift up to 50 pounds.
